About The BIRD

Huh? I am *not* a bum. I'm a jerk. I once had wealth, power, and the love of a beautiful woman. Now I only have two things: my friends, and... uh... my thermos. Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi..

Okay, so maybe...not so much... for starters...I'm not Black, I am a Mexican, whose married to a Black woman, and who's birth certificate says I'm Caucasian. Yup, You heard me. If I was handicapped and a woman, I could have any job I wanted. Now mind you that last comment was in jest, so no angry letters from the handicapped women readers that I may have. I love you all...but if i see you parked in my spot again I'm going to get upset. You have plenty of your own and they are even marked with special blue signs that are kind of kick ass (was that wrong of me to say "kick ass" when the picture is of someone in a wheelchair?), plus they are in the front of the lot so quit your bitching!

But I digress, I used to write this blog many years ago (or maybe it just seems that way), back when Myspace was the O.G. of social networking, and flickering backgrounds that slowed down your dial up connection were the norm. I used to only write about any and everything that pissed me off, and for some unknown reason people used to find my rants funny. Who would have thought that listening to a 20-something (an early 20-something at that) try to tell people about "life" and why some people shouldn't be a part of it, would be as appealing as it seemed to be.

But we all get older (dammit) and somethings change, but I hold these truths to be self evident, dumb shit still bothers me, dumb PEOPLE still eat at my soul, and I STILL feel I should be the one to let people know it. I do however, know that not every post has to be in CAPS and not all posts have to be rants (although some of those are the best, even if I have to say it myself), so you will get the occassional upbeat happy post or concert review.

So with all that being said, I hope you all enjoy, comment and follow so I feel like my nonsense is being heard and not just floating out there in the ether.
